Thus far in my experience here, most building facades, especially places of business, are stark, muted, and plain -- even if money is invested in decor, it tends to fall in one of two categories: excessive rainbow neon accents, or ancient/"classic" Chinese architecture. Paintings and murals are absent, although there may be odd and random sculptures about. Graffiti is minimal and sporadic, more often than not resembling Chinese scribbles, poor grammar in english words or phrases, and phone numbers.
